The United States Embassy in Manama called on its nationals in Bahrain to exercise "
caution
" in a security alert published Monday (September 21st).
The chancellery thus invited the Americans in this small Arab Gulf country to keep in particular "
a low profile
", "to
avoid gatherings and demonstrations
" and "to
keep valid travel documents on hand
."

Bahrain saw small sporadic protests on Friday against the normalization agreement signed with Israel.
The King of Bahrain, Hamad ben Issa Al-Khalifa, said Monday in the Council of Ministers that the agreement was "
directed against no one
", according to official media.
He was referring to Iran, a country bordering the Gulf that Manama accuses of instrumentalizing the Shiites of Bahrain to destabilize the kingdom.
Iran denies any interference in Bahrain, seat of the Fifth Fleet of the United States.
But Tehran strongly condemned the signing of the normalization agreement between Manama and Israel.
