(CNN Spanish) -

The Avianca airline restarted regular operations in Nicaragua this Saturday, with the arrival of its first commercial flight from El Salvador, according to the official portal el19digital.com.

"The Nicaraguan Government, through the authorities that converge on the EAAI (International Airport Management Company) Advisory Council, works to facilitate commercial air operations with all security measures," the portal reported.

According to digital 19, Avianca will make four flights a week on Thursdays and Saturdays.

The itinerary is: San Salvador-Managua-Miami and Miami-San Salvador-Managua.

American Airlines could resume its commercial flights on October 8.

And United Airlines will fly to Managua on the 16th of the same month, according to the airline operation update from the Aeromundo travel agency.

This was disclosed on September 19 on their social networks.

In contrast, according to Aeromundo, Copa Airlines has flights scheduled until November 1.

Aeromexico will arrive on the 5th of the same month.

Meanwhile, Spirit Airlines has not yet defined a date of arrival in Nicaragua.

Requirements to enter Nicaragua

Nicaragua maintains its demands on airlines for the reopening of their commercial operations in the country.

The direction of Civil Aeronautics announced last July that they will ask travelers for the negative result of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for covid-19, at least 72 hours before entering the country.

This requirement is required in compliance with the provisions of the Ministry of Health.

Applies to passengers and crew.

Avianca, through a statement published this Monday on its Twitter account, reported that “passengers with rapid blood test results for covid-19 may not travel, who do not present the original document for PCR testing at the airport, which does not send to the airline the copy of the test detailed above, showing respiratory symptoms or fever ».
