A 55-year-old man suspected of the murder, with still unexplained motive, of a forty-something who was shot dead this weekend in front of his home in Barsac (Gironde), was indicted on Monday, September 21 in Bordeaux and placed in pre-trial detention, AFP learned from the prosecution.

On the night of Friday to Saturday, the victim, a 45-year-old man, and his wife were awakened shortly after 2:00 a.m. by the comings and goings of a 4X4 near their house.
Intrigued by the sound of the engine, the forty-something went out to see what was happening, stepping over his bedroom window, a gun in his hand.
According to the testimony of the wife, who witnessed the scene from her bed, the victim was blocked against a wall by the vehicle, reported the prosecution.
From his vehicle, windows down, the driver fired three shots in the direction of the victim "
two of which would prove fatal
", before fleeing, told AFP the Bordeaux prosecutor's office.
The 50-year-old wife of the victim alerted the police and the police, but her husband was declared dead on the spot.
