Dozens of Mitzpe Ramon residents went out tonight (Monday) to protest in response to the attempted murder in the settlement, which took place on Friday.

Under the slogans, "In Mitzpe Ramon they say no to violence", "Mother, promise me, that women will not be murdered in my country!", "This is not a private and sad case if it happens here again and again".

The demonstration, which takes place under the guidelines and while maintaining social distance, follows the attempted shocking murder that took place on the eve of the holiday, in which a 31-year-old woman was stabbed by her partner in all parts of her body in the presence of their toddler son.

Members of Dror Israel in Mitzpe Ramon organized a protest together with dozens of local residents, men and women, and called for an end to violence against women.

The demonstrators carried signs that read "Women demand security in the streets, women demand security in homes as well, women demand security everywhere, men demand security for women", "Women are also human girls - enough bloodshed for us" and more.

"From here we reach out to our neighbor who was almost murdered and want to tell her that she is not alone," said Mia Shaul, of the Dror Israel movement, one of the organizers of the demonstration: "We are here and will do everything to fight violence against women. It turns out that it is not basic - security on the streets, security in homes, security for women everywhere. "

Mitzpe Ramon resident Nurit Sabton said: "In Mitzpe Ramon there is no place for violence. Despite and despite the corona, we decided to go out and protest and make a clear and unequivocal voice: we will not be silent until an action plan against violence against women is implemented."

Naama Yanov, of the Dror Israel movement, said: "It is impossible to call this a private and sad case if it happens again and again. It is impossible to accept this reality in which a woman is murdered every few days in Israel. The Israeli government has the ability and tools to stop it. Understand that this is a battle for our lives. "
