The government is currently convening to discuss Finance Minister Israel Katz's new economic plan, in which it has been proposed to cut the salaries of MKs and ministers.
Minister Katz said yesterday: "The supplementary plan we announced includes lowering the salaries of ministers and MKs, flexing the criteria and lowering the threshold to 25% for grants and property tax refunds, in order to allow more businesses to receive assistance. We also set an incentive for employee retention. For businesses that will remain open and keep employees in their workplace.
"We will pay advances, defer VAT payments, we have asked the banks to defer repayment of loans and mortgage repayments, in order to make it easier for Israeli citizens and business owners.
"With self-discipline and a sense of national responsibility, it is possible to cross the corona wave in peace and allow the economic life in the State of Israel to return to almost full activity - until the vaccine is obtained and returned to routine."
