(CNN Spanish) -

Jorge Arreaza, foreign minister of the government of the questioned president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, questioned this Saturday the report presented on Wednesday by the International Independent Mission of the United Nations Organization ( UN), in which, among other things, they point out that there is a pattern of violation of human rights in the country.

Arreaza insisted on highlighting that said mission never went to Venezuela to prepare said report, and that it is false that Maduro had knowledge of human rights violations by officials of the Bolivarian Intelligence Service (Sebin), considered to be the political police. of the government.

"They have not come, nor will they come," Arreaza said.

The report highlighted that on six occasions they asked the authorities for permission to travel to Venezuela, and that it was denied.

For its part, Saab insisted that, in its opinion, it lacked rigor in preparing the report, which it described as full of lies and inaccuracies.

The official considered that the document has a marked political bias that aims to attack the institutions in the country.

He supported what Arreaza said, according to which not visiting the country was a failure.

The attorney general stated that, since August 2017 to date, they have worked to clarify cases that involve human rights violations.

In that sense, it specified that, in a little more than three years, 565 officials identified as allegedly responsible for human rights violations, in addition to 31 civilians allegedly implicated as collaborators of these events, have been charged, for a total of 596 defendants.

He explained that, of those 565 officials charged, 156 belonged to the scientific police or CICPC, 138 to the Bolivarian National Police (PNB), and did not specify the bodies to which the remaining 302 belong.

There have been 447 officials from different organizations and 21 individuals, for a total of 468 deprived of liberty for the same cause.

804 officials have been charged, as well as 123 civilians, for a total of 927 accused of committing human rights violations.

Saab reported that a total of 127 state security officials and 13 civilians have been punished by means of final sentences, for a total of 140 convicted.

He added that specialized prosecutors in the matter have filed 375 accusations related to crimes of homicide, torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, unlawful deprivation of liberty and violations of the home, among other crimes contemplated in the Penal Code.

He assured that the report is disrespectful to prosecutors.

CNN contacted the UN Independent International Mission to obtain its reaction to the Arreaza and Saab allegations, without having received a response so far.

The UN report accuses the Venezuelan government of "crimes against humanity" and was carried out by an independent international fact-finding mission that works for the United Nations Human Rights Council.

The report investigated 223 cases of extrajudicial executions, enforced disappearances, arbitrary detentions and torture in Venezuela, and reviewed 2,891 additional incidents to corroborate patterns of violations and crimes.

The Independent International Fact-finding Mission on the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela found that the Venezuelan government, as well as other state agents and groups that worked with them, had committed "egregious violations."
