The Buenos Aires governor, Axel Kicillof, ordered the creation of a special fund that will allow the municipalities of the province to access aid of up to 300 million pesos for cultural and tourist reactivation, but
excluded only one of the 135 districts
.
It is about Tandil, which the Buenos Aires government marginalized
for having departed from the phase system
with which it fights the advance of the coronavirus.
The creation of the fund was announced in Chascomús, during an act that Kicillof led with mayors, although the exclusion of Tandil was reported by the Buenos Aires Minister of Production, Augusto Costa.
"
The district of Tandil is out of this program,
" said the official in statements to Radio Provincia.
The argument used to remove Tandil is that, to access the fund, the municipalities must sign a letter of adhesion and comply with the health regulations established by the Government, and Tandil decided to leave the system of phases with which they try to control progress of the pandemic.
It was on September 7 that Tandil announced that it was departing from the phasing regime and implementing its own criteria to allow activities.

"Based on a broad agreement with different representative sectors of the community and based on scientific criteria developed by the Covid-19 Monitoring Committee, in Tandil we will implement a new comprehensive system," explained that day the mayor of Tandil, Miguel Lunghi. .
The Buenos Aires government's decision caused immediate rejection in different sectors and questions were not long in coming.
Among them, the Radical Civic Union (UCR), a party to which Lunghi belongs, spoke, emphasizing that the measure "shows the worst side of the provincial government's leadership."
"This attempt to generate
economic retaliation
can lead to situations of lack of control," they warned in a statement.
In the same text, they warn that the measure "is not only a subjugation of municipal autonomy, it
is an outrage against the population
."
I want to express my condemnation of the actions of the governor @Kicillofok for having excluded the city of #Tandil from benefits to tourism for applying his own plan to the pandemic.
Stalinist, anti-federal and authoritarian vision.
My solidarity with the Tandilenses.

In addition to having departed from the phase system established by the Government, Tandil was the first district to rebel.
Last August, when Kicillof announced a new extension of the quarantine, from Tandil they went to the crossing: "After 150 days, no decree can tell us what we have to do," launched the municipal chief of staff, Oscar Teruggi.
On that occasion, and in statements to the
Eco TV
channel,
the official indicated that they were appealing to the "individual responsibility" of citizens due to the situation in the district, which had no circulation of the virus.
