In its most recent meeting, the local council discussed possible measures to calm traffic in Oberhausen.
The reason for the lively debate were complaints from residents of the village street, who had complained about the increasing traffic and the associated dangers for pedestrians and cyclists.
Oberhausen - "Because our village street is the WM 15 district road, we as a municipality are not responsible for it," said Mayor Thomas Feistl, "all rights and obligations lie with the Weilheim-Schongau district." What he could do was discussed at an on-site visit , in which the complainants and members of the council took part, as well as representatives from the police, the state building authority and the district's transport authority.
The majority of them were of the opinion that the hill between Dorfstrasse 40 and 48 did not pose too much danger because the cars there were forced to drive slowly.
From a whole bunch of ideas, the council members unanimously agreed on the following proposals:
At the level of the children's house, a speed reduction to 30 km / h over the maximum length of 300 meters must be requested from the district.
Before making any further decisions about implementation, the effort required to raise the sidewalks and curbs must be determined.
At the state building authority, the average annual total costs for road maintenance, road renovation measures and bridge maintenance / bridge construction per kilometer of district road in the district are to be determined.
In addition, it should be asked which measures are planned for World Cup 15.
In addition, possible types and costs for crossing aids must be determined at the level of the Tetzl medical practice.
The possibilities for reducing the risk when entering from Espenlaubweg / Kirchenweg at Gasthaus Stroblwirt are to be investigated.
The traffic volume on the WM 15 in Dorfstrasse and Eyacher Strasse should be inquired about.
It is also necessary to check whether a continuous sidewalk is possible in the village street and how much it would cost.
A crossing aid at the Schneider Metzgerei and the costs for it should also be checked.
Before deciding which measures are to be implemented or applied to the district, the municipal council wants to know what the cost is in relation to the actual benefit.
"All measures must be approved by the district," said the mayor.
Due to the low number of pedestrians and cyclists in Dorfstraße, the municipality of Oberhausen alone has to bear all the costs.
According to Feistl, however, there is a small glimmer of hope: "We may be able to get funding from urban development for one or the other measure!"
