  • The wailing of sirens could be heard in Bad Tölz and in the Wackersberg area late on Tuesday afternoon.

  • Several fire brigades moved out to fire a workshop in the Wackersberg district of Nodern.

  • The operator of the workshop suffered minor injuries.

Wackersberg -

A larger contingent of fire fighters moved out on Tuesday afternoon to a fire in the Wackersberg district of Nodern.

There was a fire in a workshop on an agricultural estate.

One person was slightly injured.

As district fire chief Georg Lettner, who was in charge of operations, reports, the affected house is a kind of "combination building".

On the one hand there is an apartment and on the other a workshop.

The first thing the fire department checked was whether there were people in the apartment

The fire brigade was alerted around 4.30 p.m.

Lettner itself - “I happened to be nearby” - and the Oberfischbach fire brigade were the first to be on site.

The workshop was on fire.

"The first thing we did was search the apartment to see if there were any people there," reports Lettner.

“That was not the case.” Before the fire brigade arrived, the operator of the workshop had already taken the first extinguishing measures himself: He tried to contain the flames with the help of a garden hose.

“That made a lot of sense,” says Lettner.

Gas bottles threatened to explode in a burning workshop

The fire brigade - meanwhile supported by comrades from Bad Tölz and Oberbuchen - then managed to extinguish the fire completely.

Some of the flames had reached the empty upper floor.

In addition, the volunteers had to cool gas bottles that were in the workshop and threatened to explode.

The fire brigades in Königsdorf and Geretsried also moved out, but were able to turn around on the way because they were no longer needed.

A total of 60 workers were deployed, plus the police and rescue service, who took care of the workshop operator's minor injuries.

In the evening, the local police investigated the cause of the fire.
