Placed in police custody on Tuesday as part of an investigation based on suspicion of favoritism vis-à-vis the Montpellier president, Bernard Laporte, Mohed Altrad and three other people regained their freedom in the early evening on Wednesday.
It is now up to the national financial prosecutor to decide on the follow-up to be given to this preliminary investigation opened in 2017 to examine in particular the links between MM.

The two men were heard in the premises of the Brigade for the Repression of Economic Crime (BRDE) at the same time as Serge Simon, vice-president of the FFR, Nicolas Hourquet, responsible for international relations of the FFR, and Claude Atcher, director general of the organizing committee for the 2023 Rugby World Cup, scheduled for France.
