This Chinese Air Force propaganda video is causing a stir for several reasons.
The lavishly produced clip shows a fictitious attack with nuclear weapons-capable H6 bombers.
The aim of the maneuver: a site that looks very similar to the strategically important US Air Force Base on the Pacific island of Guam.
The video also causes a stir because of the origin of the action-packed images.
Users in the social networks have long since identified the Hollywood films that China used: "The Hurt Locker", "The Rock" and "Transformers".
The video should be understood as an expression of displeasure by the Chinese government.
Beijing had sharply criticized a high-ranking US State Department official's visit to Taiwan in August.
As amusing as the involuntary Hollywood-China cooperation appears in a propaganda video, the video also shows that tensions between the USA and China in the Asia-Pacific region are increasing.
