Iran today (Wednesday) released photos taken by a UAV that followed an American aircraft carrier that passed through Egypt last week. The Tasnim news agency, which is close to the Revolutionary Guards, said that UAV-made UAVs photographed "Nimitz" on board fighter jets.

The aircraft carrier, and several battleships that accompanied it, passed last Friday in Hormuz, the world's most important shipping lane for oil transportation.

The U.S. Navy described it as a "pre-determined maneuver."

The Fifth Fleet, based in Bahrain and responsible for patrols in the region's waters, declined to comment on the Iranian report.

Earlier, the Revolutionary Guards received new drones from the Iranian defense industries. At an official ceremony, the force commander, General Hussein Salami, said that the strength of the Revolutionary Guards fleet was based on a combination of drones, helicopters, aircraft and vessels.
