The government representatives of China and the USA have attacked each other sharply in the UN Security Council.
During a meeting of the most powerful UN body on global security in the corona pandemic, US UN ambassador Kelly Craft criticized the contributions of previous speakers with clear words: "Shame on you all. I am amazed and disgusted by the content of today's discussion. In fact, I'm pretty ashamed of that advice. "
She later reaffirmed the US position that China had lied to the world despite better knowledge about the coronavirus and thus pushed its spread.
China's ambassador Zhang Jun accused the US of having infected the world with a "political virus".
He referred to the US allegation that the Chinese government was responsible for the outbreak of the corona pandemic.
The US has created global confrontation and division with its allegations against China.
The Trump administration is solely responsible for every Covid-19 death and is completely isolated in the world.
Problems would not be solved by blaming others.
"Enough is enough, you've brought enough trouble into the world," said Zhang.
Relations between the USA and China had deteriorated massively in the past few months, also because of the corona pandemic.
US President Donald Trump had repeatedly referred to the corona virus as the "China virus".
The conflict now affects almost every aspect of the relationship between the two great powers.
Guterres: Fear that the climate crisis will be handled like the corona pandemic
Given the disagreement among the members of the Security Council, Secretary General Antonio Guterres said at the beginning of the meeting that his "greatest fear" was that the "climate crisis would be approached with the same disagreement" as the corona pandemic.
