A Russian Su-27 fighter jet intercepted a US B-52H spy plane flying over Poland and prevented it from violating the Russian border.
"The means of controlling and controlling the airspace over Polish territory have spotted a B-52H strategic bomber of the US Air Force approaching the Russian border," Sputnik news agency quoted a statement issued today by the Russian Defense Ministry.
The statement indicated that a Russian Su-27 fighter belonging to the Air Defense Forces in the Western Military District had flown to prevent it from violating the airspace.
A Russian Su-27 fighter intercepted two American reconnaissance planes over the Black Sea on the eleventh of this month.
