Do what I say, not what I do.

This is, in essence, the message sent by Jean Castex this Thursday evening.

Guest of France 2 for his first major televised oral, the Prime Minister admitted that he had not even bothered to download the “StopCovid” application.

The program is however strongly recommended by the government to slow down - or even slow down - the chain of circulation of the coronavirus in the territory.

I didn't.

Yes, I am pushing the French to do it, but I did not do it because ... There ... I did not.

I am very honest with you

”, first defended the head of government, visibly embarrassed.

And to add: “''

StopCovid '', it's very interesting when you go in the metro, when you meet people ... Unfortunately, the performance of my duties means that I no longer take the metro - I regret it ...

"

Less than 3 million downloads, for just 268 alerts

The tenant of Matignon is not the only member of the government to be a bad student in this area.

Of the ten ministers present behind him - Barbara Pompili (Ecological Transition), Gérald Darmanin (Interior), Élisabeth Borne (Work), etc.

-, at least two admitted that they had not installed the application on their phones either.

They are Éric Dupond-Moretti (Justice) and Marlène Schiappa (Citizenship).

Developed with the aim of reporting "contact cases" to users, the "StopCovid" application was very controversial when it was launched.

Part of the opposition and the majority were concerned about the threat that the program could represent in terms of public freedoms.

Downloaded less than 3 million times, the application has so far not found its audience in France: only 268 alerts have been sent.
