Searches by the Genoa financial police in the offices of the municipality of Bondeno, in the province of Ferrara, as part of the investigation into the funds of the League.
In particular, this line of investigation concerns the alleged laundering of part of the 49 million euros obtained by the Carroccio as electoral reimbursements thanks to non-transparent financial statements at the time of the management of the leader Umberto Bossi and of the former treasurer Francesco Belsito.
The military took documentary and computer material on payments of sums transited to accounts that could be in Northern League orbit. The Municipality has long been administered by members of the League. At the end of August the military, coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Francesco Pinto and by the substitute Paola Calleri, had carried out another search, that of the Milanese headquarters of Boniardi Grafiche srl, of which the Northern League deputy Fabio Massimo Boniardi is a member.
The investigators went to get documents relating to the payment of a donation by a regional league to the Municipality of Bondeno. The sum would have been transferred to the regional league from the provision of the Alletti bank account opened at the time by Francesco Belsito.
