North Korean forces have shot dead a source in the South Korean fisheries office, who was absent earlier this week, the South Army said today (Thursday).

Later, they poured fuel on the body and set it on fire, apparently for fear of carrying the corona virus.

The southern army said they were trying to defect to the north after disappearing from office vessels on Monday, about 10 miles south of a disputed maritime border between the two Koreas. The exact reason for the shooting at the same official, who was 47, is unclear. However, South Korean military officials said the North appeared to be following instructions to fight the corona.

According to intelligence sources, the military said it was believed to be interrogated in the middle of the sea, north of the border and about 38 kilometers from where it was absent, before being executed. Senior "by forces wearing masks.

The military said it had sent a message north through the land border demanding explanations, but received no further responses.

The Southern Army said they condemned this "horror" and demanded explanations from the north and the punishment of those responsible.

U.S. forces stationed in the south said this month that the Northern Army had received instructions to "shoot to kill" in order to prevent the virus from spreading in the isolated country.

In July, a man who defected to the south three years ago caused panic over the outbreak of the plague in the north after he managed to return to the north through a sewer.

Pyongyang claims that not a single patient has been diagnosed.

The return of that defector led to the closure of a border city and the isolation of thousands of people.

The World Health Organization said its test results were not unequivocal.

Last week, South Korean police arrested a fugitive who was trying to return north through a break-in into a military training area in the southern border town of Chorvan.

Chad Okrol, director general of the Korean Risk Group, which monitors what is happening in North Korea, said dragon enforcement measures could be an attempt to prevent any outbreak that would disrupt the large military parade scheduled for October 10. "In many ways, this parade is contagious. Enormous, "he wrote on Twitter." And it seems that the paranoia of that fear led to instructions to shoot to kill. "
