Next year there will be no carnivals in Panama due to the covid-19 pandemic and because it is not certain that the virus will be controlled in early 2021, the Ministry of Health confirmed this Friday to CNN.
The confirmation ends the doubts about the realization or not of this popular festival among Panamanians, because the authorities implemented through an executive decree on March 13 the prohibition of massive activities, including carnivals, until there is a vaccine against it. covid-19.
As of Thursday, the new coronavirus caused the death of 2,297 people in Panama, according to data from the Ministry of Health. In the country there are 108,726 confirmed cases and 20,935 active infections since the pandemic began.
