Accidents involving wildlife are not uncommon on the roads in the Free State.
But if one animal is the undoing of three cars at once, then that is something special.
There was an accident on the B173 near Wallenfels on Friday evening (September 25).
A wild boar was crossing the lane when a car arrived.
But that was just the beginning of a strange series of accidents.

It all started on Friday evening on
Bundestraße 173

Wallenfells

A car driver was heading towards the
farm
when a
wild boar
crossed the street, reports

The car could no longer evade and rammed the animal.
It was thrown onto the opposite lane and died in the
accident
.
The car remained largely undamaged in the collision.
When the driver then called the
police
, it caught another unlucky fellow.
A Ford Focus was driving towards
Kronach
when it
arrived
at the
scene of
the
accident
.
He overlooked the dead animal on the road and slammed head-on into the boar.
This resulted in a
total loss
of 3000 euros
on the vehicle
.
But that
did not end
the
series of accidents
.

A short time later, another car drove
along
the
B173
in the direction of
Kronach
.
This driver also overlooked the carcass and rammed it head-on.
Then he slid his car into the grass verge at the edge of the road.
However, the collision must have been so severe that the vehicle
caught
fire.
Only the arriving
police
were able to extinguish the still burning car.
This car was also
totaled
.
The two inmates were also slightly injured.
An ambulance took her to a nearby
hospital
.
The two severely damaged vehicles were no longer ready to drive and had to be towed away.
