Democratic White House candidate Joe Biden said on Saturday he expected
"lies"
and
"personal attacks"
from Donald Trump during their first televised debate on Tuesday, comparing the Republican president to Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels.

"It will be difficult,"
admitted the former vice-president in an interview broadcast by the MSNBC channel.
"I expect direct attacks, mainly personal attacks, that's all he can do,"
he added of the outgoing Republican president.
“He doesn't know how to discuss the facts.
He's not that smart
, ”he continued.
“He doesn't know much about foreign policy or domestic policy.
He doesn't really know the details. ”
Suddenly, according to Joe Biden,
"it will be mainly personal attacks and lies"
.
The old politician, aged 77, will face Tuesday night for the first time directly the president whom he has promised to dethrone at the end of a campaign whose main message is his call to rid the country of Donald Trump.
They will then meet for two more debates before the November 3 ballot.
Some of his supporters, however, fear that Joe Biden, prone to blunders and slippages, falters during these televised duels under the rhetorical blows of a Republican billionaire with a more aggressive style.
Donald Trump himself never ceases to mock the lack of dynamism of his rival, whom he nicknames
"sleeping Joe"
, even to suggest a form of senility.
He also insists that Joe Biden, a pure product of the moderate wing of the Democratic Party, is a
“puppet”
of the radical left.
"He's a bit like Goebbels,"
the Democratic candidate replied on Saturday.
According to him, the president applies the recipes of the head of propaganda of the Nazi regime:
"You tell a lie again and again, you repeat it, repeat it, repeat it, so that it becomes a given."
