However, the health situation has improved markedly in New York State since the spring, at the height of the crisis.
Restaurants in New York City, which were already serving outdoors, will be able to reopen their rooms on Wednesday at 25% of their capacity.
The United States on Friday reached the mark of 7 million identified cases of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.
The disease has also killed nearly 205,000 people in the country, according to the benchmark count from Johns Hopkins University.
