Iranian President Hassan Rouhani affirmed that the presence of US forces in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Gulf states undermines the security and stability of the region.
During his meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Rouhani noted that the Iraqi parliament's vote on the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq is a positive step that the Iraqi people respect and are supported by Iran.
Rouhani rejected the allegations of his country's interference in the internal affairs of Iraq and said that the Iranian people and their government consider Iraq a friendly country, once again his country's support for the Iraqi people and its legitimate government to confront the terrorist attacks of ISIS, stressing the need to strengthen and deepen relations between the two countries in various fields.
In turn, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reaffirmed his country's support for the political process in Iraq and the preservation of its sovereignty and security.
During his meeting with the Iraqi Foreign Minister today, Zarif said that Tehran rejects any aggression against diplomatic places in Iraq and stresses the need to stop it.
For his part, Hussein stressed that Iraq does not allow any threat to its neighbors from its territory, stressing the depth of relations between the two countries.
