The Education Directorate in Sweida closed a classroom class in one of the governorate's high schools after confirming that a student was infected with the Corona virus, in accordance with the health protocol approved by the Ministry of Education.
The Director of Education, Bassam Abu Mahmoud, stated that after following up on a number of suspected cases of HIV infection in the Martyr Nayef Jarbou School in the city of As-Suwayda, it was confirmed that a second-grade high school student was infected, explaining that according to the approved medical protocol, the classroom section in which the student studies was closed for five days with the intensification of sterilization operations And follow-up of those in contact with it.
He stressed that the health status in all schools in the governorate is monitored by health teams from the Health Directorate and the School Health Department, and there is nothing to worry about.
In turn, the Director of As-Suwayda Health, Dr. Nizar Muhanna, explained that the only school infection with the Coronavirus was dealt with by requiring the student to stay at home for two weeks while monitoring the course of symptoms of the disease and giving recommendations to him and those in contact, indicating that swabs were taken for all suspected contacts.
And the Director of Health pointed out that cases of seasonal influenza, which are common in the fall and winter seasons, began to appear, and which do not cause fear and panic, and with symptoms similar to those of Corona.
He stressed the need to adhere to the precautionary measures of avoiding gatherings, wearing masks, with frequent hand washing with soap and water, not touching the face with contaminated hands, and following healthy habits in sneezing and coughing, which would break the cycle of infection of all diseases.
