Today, the Russian Foreign Ministry called on the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides for an immediate ceasefire in the Karabakh region.
"The situation in the conflict zone has deteriorated sharply, as the region is witnessing intense bombing by both sides, and there are data on casualties," Russia Today quoted a foreign ministry statement.
The statement added, "We call on the parties concerned for an immediate ceasefire and the start of negotiations in order to stabilize the situation."
The situation in the Nagorno Karabakh region witnessed a sudden military escalation today, while the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides exchanged accusations about the causes of the escalation.
