Today in Deir Ezzor Governorate started the process of marketing cotton for the current agricultural season.

The director of Deir Ezzor's ginning house, Eng. Saleh Al-Harmash, stated in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the groomer began today to receive the cottons from the fields of farmers and weigh them in the groves of the gin after placing them in trucks designated by the General Organization for Ginning and Marketing Cotton to be transported from Deir Ezzor to the ginners of Hama at the Foundation's expense and according to a certificate origin.

Al-Harmash pointed out that cooperation exists between all parties from the General Organization for Cotton Ginning and Marketing, the Deir Ez-Zor Farmers Union, the Agricultural Bank, and agricultural associations and farmers to facilitate the marketing process.

The head of the Peasants' Union in Deir Al-Zour, the reservoir of forgetfulness, affirmed that farmers will continue harvesting their cotton crops for marketing under the supervision of agricultural associations that facilitate the marketing process.

In turn, the Director of Deir Al-Zour Agriculture, Eng. Mahmoud Al-Hayy, explained that the area cultivated by the cotton crop in the governorate for the current season amounted to 12,200 hectares, and estimates of the average production per hectare of cotton in the governorate are about 3,250 kg.

It is noteworthy that the Deir Ezzor Governorate marketed 6406 tons of cotton last year.
