Hongkong Post explained that Hong Kong has developed from a small fishing village more than 150 years ago to an international metropolis. Economic and trade activities have been concentrated on both sides of the Victoria Harbour since the opening of the port in the middle of the nineteenth century. A number of representative buildings are located on both sides of the Victoria Harbour. It is a world-famous Hong Kong symbol and is very popular among Hong Kong people and tourists. Therefore, the four stamps issued this time show the views of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Peninsula from the top of Victoria Peak in 1962 and 2020 respectively. The landscape changes of Victoria Harbour over the past half a century are presented with a combined ticket design.

The 2 yuan stamp sees the Western Ring’s transformation from bungalows to buildings

Among the stamps of $2, it can be seen that the Western District of Hong Kong Island has developed from a large block of bungalows to a high-rise residential area. After the reclamation project in West Kowloon on the opposite bank in the 1990s, Stonecutters Island is connected with Kwai Chung and Cheung Sha Wan, while the Kwai Chung Container Terminal is clear visible.

The 3.7 stamps can be seen in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong and Macau Ferry Terminals, and the Kowloon area has changed more now and then. After multiple reclamation projects, the new Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter and West Kowloon Cultural District have been built, as well as the 484-meter-high Global Trade Plaza.

The 4.9 yuan stamp can be seen in Central, the traditional commercial center of Hong Kong. The coastline moved north due to the reclamation project. On the opposite side, Tsim Sha Tsui is another central business district. Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront is home to the clock tower, Hong Kong Cultural Center and Avenue of Stars.

The $5 stamp is for Admiralty, the Kai Tak cruise terminal and the new core business district of Kowloon East.

This postage prepaid picture card is printed with raster technology to show the Victoria Harbour in different eras with a changing image effect. If a set of four picture cards are placed side by side, the panoramic view of the Victoria Harbour will be presented.

The first day cover uses the old and new camera designs to echo the theme of "present and past", and a set of four sets of inverted stamps are affixed to the serviced first day cover. The design of each set of stamps is different. The regular stamps are connected with the inverted stamps to create a reflection of Victoria Harbour Effect.

All post offices will sell this set of special stamps and related philatelic products for 3 months from September 29, while stocks last. Details can be found on the website of the Stamp Planning and Development Office or the Hongkong Post mobile application.
