A sixteen-year-old teenager died while hunting in Charente-Maritime on Sunday (September 27) while handling his rifle, Sud-Ouest reported yesterday.
The blow went off and fatally injured his head.
According to the prosecutor's office in La Rochelle, the young boy held a hunting license and his twelve-year-old brother present at the time of the accident remained very shocked.
An investigation was opened and entrusted to the Angoulins gendarmerie brigade (Charente-Maritime) in order to determine the exact causes of his death, although the thesis of the accident is privileged.
A forensic examination will also take place in Poitiers in the coming days.
