A leaflet on the corona pandemic, which a conspiracy theorist allegedly brought to the public, causes trouble in Uffing.

One recipient is outraged - especially since the anonymous author is "abusing" the name Sophie Scholls.

  • A Uffinger is annoyed by an anonymous leaflet about the corona pandemic that was in her mailbox.

  • The author uses, among other things, a quote from the Nazi resistance fighter Sophie Scholl.

  • The municipality of Uffing does not want to take action against this at the moment.

Uffing

- This post did not generate any joy - on the contrary.

“I was so excited,” says Heide Müller (name changed).

An anonymously distributed flyer entitled “The pandemic is over”, which was in her mailbox a few days ago, got the Uffinger's blood pumping.

It shows a curve diagram of the Covid 19 deaths over the past few months in Germany, a list of the hospital beds occupied by corona patients at the beginning of September and two quotes - including from Sophie Scholl, member of the Nazi resistance group White Rose.

Müller is deeply annoyed that “Sophie Scholl's name is being misused for something like this.

It is a total cheek to mention them in this context ”- especially since the author does not even have the courage to reveal his identity.

Müller, who lives in the south of Uffing, suspects a "conspiracy theorist" behind the leaflet.

Corona leaflet: In how many mailboxes the pamphlet landed remains unclear

It remains to be seen to what extent the pamphlet was disseminated in the village and beyond.

According to Mayor Andreas Weiß (non-party), the Uffingen town hall “did not reach the leaflet until yesterday.

No community citizen has informed me about it either ”.

He knows the population of Uffing so that they "have behaved extremely sensibly and understandingly since the beginning of the pandemic".

Weiss is therefore convinced that "if leaflets are distributed wildly or deliberately, nothing will change in reason and understanding".

Everyone has the opportunity to deal with the matter in detail and to form their own opinion.

The mayor explains that no further steps are currently being considered.

Leaflet without imprint: Sensitive penalties possible

Basically, leaflets are also subject to press law and must have an imprint with the name and address of both the person responsible and the printer.

If the sources are simply forgotten, a fine is due, according to the initiative daily newspaper.

However, if a leaflet has a criminal content and someone believes that they will not be caught by a missing imprint, it continues, then maximum sentences of "up to one year in prison" are provided.
