The Council of Ministers discussed in its weekly session today headed by Eng. Hussein Arnous, Chairman of the Council, the draft new civil status law, which aims to unify the civil registry secretariats with one secretariat called “the one Syria trust” to ensure the integrity and correctness of the paper records related to citizens' data and the implementation of civil status work by computer to simplify and shorten procedures in time The fastest and easiest way.

The Council stressed that the service ministries should improve the quality of services provided to citizens, achieve fair distribution, and develop alternative plans to deal with emergency situations in various sectors.

He instructed the Ministries of Internal Trade and Economy and the Central Bank of Syria to take the necessary measures to enhance the stocks of subsidized basic materials to ensure the continuity of their provision to citizens via the electronic services card.

Eng. Arnous stressed the need for each ministry to carry out the tasks assigned to it to translate the government statement into operational programs, set up appropriate tracking mechanisms, and focus on spending operations on the implementation of quality projects in services and infrastructure that will positively reflect on improving the service and development realities.

The Prime Minister asked the ministries to raise the ceiling of incentive bonuses and the nature of work, and focus on activating the incentive system and linking wages to production according to objective and transparent performance standards.

And assigned the Economic Committee to conduct a description of the reality of small and medium enterprises and proposals for expansion.

The council also discussed the new draft law regulating the work of the Contractors Association in a way that would contribute to raising the level of the contracting profession and encouraging contractors to create competitive companies to contribute to the reconstruction phase and the use of modern technologies in the implementation of projects.

He listened to a presentation by the Minister of Justice on the results of the work of the committee concerned with developing legislation, difficulties encountered in implementation, and proposals for treatment.

The council requested the ministries of health and education to expand investigations in schools and to give the necessary flexibility to education and school health directors to deal with any suspected cases of Coronavirus among students and to provide sterilization and prevention requirements.

The Council approved the completion of the implementation of the Kiswa photovoltaic generation plant project with a capacity of 1.7 megawatts, and the provision of equipment for the water treatment plant in the city of Jableh.

From the Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, he listened to a presentation on the measures taken to price the basic consumer basket up to 20 items, in a way that ensures the continued rotation of the production process, providing products at fair prices to consumers, and striving to reduce intermediate links to a minimum.
