A US Marine Corps unit announced that an F-35B fighter jet crashed yesterday after crashing into an aerial refueling plane.
"The F-35B fighter collided with a KC-130J plane in Imperial County, California, during an mid-air refueling operation, which caused the fighter to crash," Reuters quoted the third wing of the aircraft in the US Marines as saying.
He pointed out that the commander of the fighter jumped from it and was injured, as he is currently receiving treatment, while the crew of the refueling plane landed safely, pointing out that investigations are being conducted to uncover the circumstances of the accident.
This year witnessed many crashes and crashes of fifth-generation F-35 fighters belonging to the US Air Force, which raised questions about their capabilities and safety.
