The cholitas of Bolivia appear in public, with speed and harmony in a show of pride for their culture and against the stereotype and discrimination that marked this social group from the altiplano for centuries.
But the skates of these cholitas «Imilla Skate» are the platform to achieve this and to attract the attention of the whole world.
The viralisation of their routine, with their Cochabamba hats, their typical skirts and their determined attitude positions them as winners in an international context that increasingly admires and respects the cultural values of indigenous peoples.
Guillermo Arduino spoke with two of the Imilla Skate from Cochabamba, Bolivia —Daniela Daniela Santiváñez and Brenda Tinta—: they told more about their initiative in detail.
