The European Union on Thursday began legal proceedings against the United Kingdom for breach of the Brexit agreement and violation of international law.
The announcement came after several weeks of controversy after the government of Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed its plans to implement legislation that would overturn a specific part of the so-called Northern Ireland protocol.
