Moscow-Sana

Russia has reaffirmed its endeavor to resolve the conflict in the Karabakh region, stressing that it does not support any of the disputing parties.

Sputnik news agency quoted Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, as saying in a statement today that “Turkey unequivocally supports Azerbaijan .. We know this, but this does not mean that we are on the other side and we support Armenia against Azerbaijan .. We support a just settlement and support a halt. We support the cessation of hostilities, ”indicating Moscow’s desire for the two countries to stop the escalation.

Nebenzia added, "The internationalization of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict will not help, but will only aggravate the situation .. Moscow called on all parties to show maximum restraint and work to stop the escalation."

On the other hand, Nebenzia stressed that Moscow does not want to increase global military activity in the Arctic.

The Kremlin announced earlier today that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterparts Donald Trump and French Emmanuel Macron agreed to formulate a statement on the situation in Nagorny Karabakh, in which they called for a cessation of hostilities and heading to the negotiating table without conditions.
