A 7,000 m² warehouse was devastated by a spectacular fire which did not claim any victims on Wednesday evening in the industrial area of Blanc-Mesnil (Seine-Saint-Denis), we learned from the firefighters.
The fire, the origin of which was not immediately known, broke out at the end of the evening in this area near the A3 motorway, located about ten kilometers north-east of Paris, has said a spokesperson for the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP).
The blaze, fueled by the many wooden pallets that were inside,
"devastated and collapsed the entire warehouse,"
he said. Nearly 150 firefighters and around 20 trucks were dispatched to the scene from 11:30 p.m., as the fire released huge columns of black smoke in the sky. The fire was contained two hours later: around 1:45 a.m., the blaze was still active but the firefighters had ruled out any risk of the fire spreading to surrounding buildings, according to the spokesperson.
