Transport Minister Miri Regev this evening (Thursday) accused the public of overusing public transportation during the closure.

In a broadcast to her followers on Facebook, she noted that despite the closure announced two days ago, there has been a significant increase in the number of passengers and called for refraining from using it.

In the broadcast, the minister noted that during a situation assessment she reported that "we have 700,000 passengers a day on public transport, which is 400,000 more than in the previous closure."

"Israelis leave the house without a vital need and do not obey the closure instructions. I call on you, let us take responsibility and avoid using public transportation and leaving the house unnecessarily."

Although the minister referred to the previous closure, she refrained from noting that the nature of the current closure is different, and that many Israelis are still required to travel by public transport, among other things to get to jobs.

Also, it did not address the possibility that bus congestion is caused due to the inability to reinforce the lines.

So far the Ministry of Transport has failed in its efforts to do so, that such a proposal has already been put on its table in the form of revenue of the transport companies whose drivers are disabled to reinforce the lines.

Regev's directive, which came in contrast to the greetings she scattered to the many pilots abroad this morning at Ben Gurion Airport, reveals the big problem that the Ministry of Transportation is trying. On the horizon.

"Increase in passenger volume compared to the first closure."

At the same time, the rise in morbidity continues.

This morning, the Ministry of Health updated that in the past day a record number of 8,919 patients were diagnosed.

As a result, the number of infected patients in Israel rose to 248,133.

Yesterday, results were obtained for more than 65,000 tests, with a positive percentage for the virus of 13.6.
