The public authorities are preparing to spend astronomical sums of money to try to make the Seine suitable for swimming by the Olympic Games of 2024. The challenge promises to be arduous, with many works to be carried out in Paris and its suburb.
Because today, the water from the river is not of sufficient quality to be dipped in, according to European standards.
On the side of Anne Hidalgo's team, we fear that future swimmers will be contaminated by leptospirosis, better known under the name of "
rat disease
".

This infectious disease is transmitted through the urine of small rodents, which are very numerous in the capital.

"Floods, hurricanes, and all extreme climatic phenomena favor the transmission of the disease"
