The public is confused, the public does not understand the guidelines, and the public ultimately also the one who pays - and here are the numbers to prove it.

According to data from the Israel Police obtained by Israel Today, as of January this year, the police information center (110) has received more than 2.5 million inquiries from concerned citizens.

For comparison, in all of 2019, the call center received 2 million calls.

The police make it clear that the majority of the public obeys the instructions, but in the same breath note that "the police are 'blown up' in conversations of citizens who want to follow the instructions, but do not understand them."

A police officer said: "The feeling here is that we have become for the citizens the focus of the corona, because there is no other factor that gives explanations."

Superintendent Oren Meshulam, commander of the police information center, reveals that 90 percent of the questions received at the center are related to Corona.

"Citizens want to avoid committing offenses and try to find out from us what is allowed or forbidden."

Also, quite a few of the calls deal with fines recipients who try to find out details about the reports they have received.

Meanwhile, the police will increase forces and prepare to enforce restrictions on the public during Sukkot, but also explained that they will find it difficult to enforce violations by non-nuclear families on Sukkot and reach private Sukkot only if a complaint about noise is received from neighbors.
