Panusaya "Rung" Sithijirawattanakul is one of tens of thousands who have been driving the political leadership in Bangkok these weeks.

She is one of the uncomfortable, the loud and the young, who have been protesting in the Thai capital since June - for democratic reforms, for a new prime minister election and for the abolition of a law that punishes libel with up to 15 years in prison.

She is 40 minutes late for the Skype call because she is in the middle of studying for the upcoming exams.

"I could die, I'm so tired," she says into the camera, smiling shyly.

There's been a lot going on since the 21-year-old with Harry Potter glasses publicly rose against the monarchy on August 10 at a demonstration in Bangkok.

Even now, during the most recent protests in mid-September, it was again the focus.

This time she was carrying a letter to Rama X, the King of Thailand.

It contained harsh demands on the monarch to resign.

Women like her are leading the protests during these months.
