As reported, the SPD submitted a catalog of questions to the city's homeless shelter to the Miesbach city council in the September meeting.
Now the answers are there.
The structural condition of the homeless shelter in Miesbach is no longer the best.
While the city has been working on the topic for several months, the SPD parliamentary group submitted an extensive catalog of questions to the city council in September in order to “bring all city council members to the same level of knowledge”, as SPD spokesman Paul Fertl had explained.
Now the city has answered the questions.
The result: the building is in need of renovation, but not in a very bad condition.
As Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller (CSU) explains in a letter to the council members, the current situation is based on the age - built in the 1950s, expanded in the 1970s - and the simple construction. In addition, as reported - There was a fire in the building in 2014.
Renovation work has been carried out repeatedly since the beginning of 2015.
This was discussed in consultation with the deputy mayors, including Fertl, and the responsible speakers.
25,000 euros invested so far
Around 25,000 euros have been invested in the house since then, including wood stoves, smoke alarms, windows, doors, floors, socket strips and a fire inspection.
According to Braunmiller, 20 of the 24 so-called usage units are currently occupied.
One room is in need of renovation and another is used by the caretaker for equipment.
The average length of stay has remained the same over the years.
“It is between three days and several years,” explains the town hall chief.
Eight children have lived there in the past few years - each in consultation with and in cooperation with the youth welfare office of the district office.
No families are currently accommodated there.
It is currently used by 20 people.
Scope and costs depend on concept planning
However, the city cannot answer the question of the financial burden for the most urgent measures.
"In order to receive the necessary measures and costs, a concept planning including an inventory of a specialist planner is necessary," says Braunmiller.
In addition, there are preliminary considerations if a renovation does not seem sensible.
For this possibility, the SPD wanted to know whether there were structural and spatial alternatives to the current homeless shelter - be it a piece of land or a building.
According to Braunmiller, a specialist planner is also required here to determine any costs.
Topic not yet dealt with publicly
The next meeting of the city council is on Thursday, October 15th.
Then the subject should come back on the table.
It was last discussed in July and September in the building committee - in each case not publicly.
