The community of Egling creates a new home for the local clubs such as the music band and classic car enthusiasts.

Now the topping-out ceremony has been celebrated at the old parish hall.

Egling

- In Egling things have gone very quickly over the past few weeks.

First the topping-out ceremony for the wood chip plant at the building yard, then at the Springer property, and now, on Thursday, at the Deiningen parish hall.

“So many lifts in such a short time, that's historic,” said Mayor Hubert Oberhauser.

When the house is finished - it is assumed that the end of the year - it should offer a new home above all to local clubs such as the music band and classic car enthusiasts.

The fire brigade will also stay here until a new location is found.

The band plays on a happy occasion

Oberhauser recalled the eventful history of the building.

It was built in 1820, so 200 years ago.

It served as a school, as the administration of the independent community and for a long time also as a birthplace.

Some of the Deiningen councilors like Jakob Bernlochner saw the light of day here.

Carpenter Peter Hainz, who gave the verdict, was also born here.

“This is really special for me,” he said.

He also took home some of the ancient beams.

“Something beautiful will come of this,” he said.

The construction site was not easy to manage

Oberhauser recalled that the construction site was quite a challenge because of the cramped conditions at the corner of Alte Tölzer Strasse and Hornsteiner Strasse.

The result - 270 square meters on two floors - is impressive.

"The village community and the clubs will be able to use it well," he said.

Emergency shelters for homeless people are also planned.

"We are thus fulfilling our social responsibility."

Although the old building - which, by the way, is not a listed building - contained a few surprises, the costs remain under one million euros.

State funding is around 350,000 euros.

A great day for Deining - and the band played along with it.
