Patrick Zaki will remain in prison for another 45 days.

This was reported by his lawyer Hoda Nasrallah after today's hearing in Cairo.

Now "we really need a serious commitment from the Italian government, which is able to get Patrick out of this nightmare, because it is unimaginable that this mechanism for postponing his release for who knows what presumed investigation supplements based on nothing can go on indefinitely".

Thus Riccardo Noury, spokesperson for Amnesty International Italia.

"Amnesty, the students, Patrick's friends, the University of Bologna and local authorities cannot be left to carry out this campaign".

"Still in prison, months without a hearing on the merits, months without respect for human and civil rights. Let's increase the democratic pressure, let's not resign ourselves. May the Government ask for respect for human rights, as a condition of bilateral relations with Egypt". So Virginio Merola, mayor of Bologna, sharing on Facebook the ANSA news of the renewal of 45 days of detention for Alma Mater student Patrick George Zaki.
