He elaborated on morbidity data recently and said: "All this while we are at the mouth of the winter, which can also lead to comorbidities."
Levi said the statements survey data The National Serological Survey assesses the presence of anti-virus in the population, and said:
"We found that the data are very high among the ultra-Orthodox population.
This does not surprise us, we are asked is it right to adopt the method of herd immunity?
Our answer is no and no.
Herd immunity involves a great deal of morbidity and mortality that we cannot afford.
Therefore, it is important that we all adhere to a mask, distance, prevention of congestion and hygiene.
That is the way to deal with the disease. "
According to the serological survey, about 5.5% of the general population has developed antibodies to the virus, which according to the Ministry of Health does not indicate a "herd immunity" phenomenon that develops as the number of patients increases.
The survey, conducted under the direction of Health Minister Yuli Edelstein, examined a representative sample of 55,000 participants by age, gender and sector.
Thus, the ministry, in collaboration with the four HMOs, took samples from those participants nationwide from different localities, and even classified them according to additional characteristics such as district, nationality, religion and more.
