A strong explosion, followed by an intense fire in Beirut this Friday, leaves at least four people dead and several injured.
This was reported by the Lebanese Red Cross.
The Lebanese state news agency NNA reported that a fuel tank exploded inside a bakery in the Tariq al-Jadida neighborhood.
The densely populated neighborhood is located in western Beirut.
Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri offered his condolences to the people of Tariq al-Jadida after the explosion on Friday.
Hariri urged people not to gather near the hospital or at the blast site and reminded them to be cautious amid the covid-19 pandemic.
"I am in contact with the security authorities to find out the causes of the explosion and follow up on the health of the injured," added Hariri.
