Jorge Tuto Quiroga, candidate for the presidency of Bolivia by the Libre 21 alliance, reported on Sunday through a statement that he resigned his presidential candidacy.
"I do not have the possibility of reaching the presidency and I have never been interested in problems or spaces, only having a better country for everyone," Quiroga said in the statement.

Later, Quiroga assures that he is doing it to defeat the Movement for Socialism in the first round.
“If we can defeat the MAS in the first round, the country avoids a second exposure of electoral agglomerations, saves 45 days and thus starts a five-year government in November, which reactivates the economy, without waiting for a second round and a late one. Christmas Presidential Possession ”.

Tuto Quiroga was vice president of Bolivia from 1997-2001 and assumed the presidency of Bolivia from August 7, 2001 to August 6, 2002 after President Hugo Bánzer Suárez had to resign from the presidency for health reasons.
