Three people from Munich landed a big deal with their start-up at “Höhle der Löwen”.
Carsten Maschmeyer is full of praise.
Not only does he invest in the project.
Munich - On Monday evening you
signed a super-class deal
in the
TV show “Die Höhle der Löwen”
: Leon Szeli (27) and Tomislav Tomov (28) from the
Munich startup “Presize”
were able to use their digital size
advisor
for online fashion Shops
Carsten Maschmeyer
convince.
The founders want to tackle the problem of mass returns with “Presize”.
The entrepreneur invested an impressive 650,000 euros and received 15 percent of the company's shares in return.
This is the
second largest single
deal
since the Vox show
, in which investors evaluate business ideas.
Szeli, Tomov and Awais Shafique (25), the third member of the group, have been working together for three years.
It all began at the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM), a research and teaching institute of the
Technical University
(TUM) and the
Ludwig Maximilians University
, where the three met.
Returns
were also an issue for her privately.
"I know it myself: every second part of online purchases goes down," says Leon Szeli.
Friends tell him that they have
even been blocked from shops
because of too many
returns
.
Szeli: "We thought: It has to be better."
"Den of the Lions": Young entrepreneurs from Munich win business plan competition
The three start their own business after completing their studies.
At the beginning they work from home, later in a small room at TUM.
The team continues to grow, they now have
19 employees
, and in 2019 they
took first place
in the
Munich business plan competition
.
Using your size advisor is easy for the user.
It is an
extension
that online shops
can
assign to
their
user interface
.
As a user, you
don't have to
download
a new app
.
First of all, you specify
your height
.
This value is important because the program needs a reference value to reality in order to convert pixels into centimeters.
"Because when I place a Lego man ten centimeters in front of the smartphone camera, it looks just as big as I do when I stand two meters in front of it," explains Szeli.

“Den of the lions”: software calculates a model of the body via a short video
Then there are two options: For the best result, the user records a
short smartphone video
in which he turns around himself.
The software calculates a
3-D model of the body
in the background
.
If you don't like that or are currently on the go, you can skip this point and
answer
a few
questions about body shape
instead
.
The program then suggests the right size for
the selected item of clothing
.
It even tells you how well that size fits different parts of the body.
The anonymous "Size ID" created means that the user will now receive a
size recommendation
for all products in the shop
.
Did the desired blouse fit in the size?
Or was it sent back because it was too small or too big?
Thanks to
artificial intelligence
, the algorithm learns more with every order and thus improves its recommendations.
"Lions Cave": "Presize" software already in use at "s.Oliver" and "Krüger Dirndl"
Carsten Maschmeyer is enthusiastic: “'Presize' is the startup that I
have always wanted
with 'Die Höhle der Löwen'
.
A very
competent founding team
, a real solution to a hitherto unsolved problem - and everything is based on technology with artificial intelligence. ”But it did not stop there: shortly after the investment, further investors topped up the financial round to
almost two million euros
.
"Presize" is
already in use in
some online shops, such as "s.Oliver" and "Krüger Dirndl"
.
The founders have clearly formulated their goal:
To provide the perfect size recommendation
for
a billion products
.
"This saves users time, the shops money and the environment CO2."
