Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov today called on the European Union countries to give up talking with Russia from a position of superiority and turn to an equal dialogue.
"Relations between Russia and the European Union can be based only on equality and mutual respect for interests," Sputnik quoted Lavrov as saying in a conversation with the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, adding, "Some countries that set the method in the European Union need to abandon attempts to conduct business from the point of view. In another context, Lavrov and Borel discussed the situation in Belarus and the settlement in Ukraine and the Karabakh region.
On the other hand, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev announced that NATO countries, including the United States, are trying to restrict Russia's activities in the Arctic by using various methods to achieve this matter, starting from increasing military activity near its borders to pressure sanctions.
Medvedev said during a meeting of the Interdepartmental Committee of the Russian Security Council on ensuring the national interests of the Russian Federation in the Arctic today, "We are interested in developing peaceful cooperation in this region ...
