The Supreme Court allowed the Administration headed by Donald Trump to finish the 2020 Census more than two weeks in advance.
The Administration had asked the highest court in the country to suspend the decision of a district court that had determined that the Census should continue until the end of October.
The Supreme Court decided that the Government could suspend it, while the litigation continued.
A coalition of local governments and civil rights groups had sued the Administration, arguing that
minorities and others in vulnerable communities were at risk of not being properly
counted if the count ended earlier.
