Aleppo - SANA

The activities of the first photography forum for amateur photography were launched in Aleppo today, at the Tishreen Fine Arts Hall, which included sessions on how to document the image and introduce the types of cameras and their lenses and the appropriate angle for taking press photos.

Jaber Al-Sajour, Director of Culture in Aleppo, explained that the aim of the forum is to hone the talents of amateurs in the field of photography through theoretical and practical sessions in which the amateur participants are trained and through which their skills and talents are developed, and then an exhibition that includes their pictures taken in the city of Aleppo about the reconstruction movement and the consequences of the terrorist war on Syria.

Abdul Karim Obaid, head of the Aleppo branch of the Union of Journalists, stressed the importance of the forum on journalistic photos and preserving historical events and moments for generations, indicating that there are many photojournalists in the city of Aleppo who played a large and important role in documenting war events during the past years.

In turn, Ahmed Haffar, President of the Professional Association of Photographers, spoke about the importance of the forum in cultivating the talent of those wishing to work in the field of photojournalism through theoretical and practical training on the types of cameras, lenses and lighting suitable for photography.

The need for a forum for amateur photographers is something repeated by the participants, Safaa Al-Saleh, Hussam and Lina Ghanaimi, noting all the efforts made to establish this forum to qualify cadres capable of working in the field of media, photography and documentation.
