The first lady of the United States, Melania Trump, detailed her experience fighting the coronavirus in a personal essay published on the White House website, almost two weeks after her positive result.
The first lady also revealed that her son, Barron Trump, 14, who was publicly confirmed by the White House at the time tested negative, ultimately tested positive for the virus.
It was a diagnosis that the White House did not share.
Melania Trump has tested negative for the virus, as has her husband, President Donald Trump, according to her doctors.
"Naturally, I immediately thought of our son," he wrote.
Barron initially tested negative after she and the president caught COVID-19.
But the teenager was tested again and it came back positive.
The first lady said her son "had no symptoms" and has now tested negative.

The president told reporters Wednesday that his son Barron is "fine" when asked about the young man's condition in the wake of Melania Trump's post.
The first lady also wrote that the symptoms she had were "minimal, although they affected me all at once and seemed to be a roller coaster of symptoms in the following days."

She also explained that she had body aches, coughs, headaches and was extremely tired.
Melania Trump faced the coronavirus with "a more natural route"
Unlike her husband, Melania Trump did not go to the hospital for treatment.
In fact, he remained at the White House residence, his spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham told CNN.
Along these lines, Melania Trump wrote that she did not opt for the same treatment as the president.
As he said, "he chose a more natural route", relying on "vitamins and healthy foods" and not a cocktail of drugs.
The first lady has recorded a couple of public service announcements about wearing masks while her husband continued to poke fun at their use.
However, he has also been to high-profile events without a mask, including the first presidential debate.
Additionally, Melania Trump delivered a speech in the Rose Garden with an audience during the Republican National Convention.
Melania Trump was also unmasked in the Rose Garden most recently, during the ceremony to announce the president's new appointee to the Supreme Court.
An event that has since been described by Dr. Anthony Fauci as a possible "super-spreader" of covid-19.
The use of masks
In solo events, including a trip last month to New Hampshire, her first trip since the start of the pandemic, the first lady wore a mask ... except when boarding and exiting her government plane.

Since Melania and Donald Trump's coronavirus diagnosis, the executive residence staff have taken precautions to protect themselves and others.
The measures include the use of masks and personal protective equipment, according to a statement from the first lady's office.
However, the president has shown little concern about the spread of the virus.
In that sense, he has traveled in recent days to speak to crowds, and has baselessly asserted that he is now "immune" to the virus.
He has also shown little empathy for others who have become ill or have lost family and friends to COVID-19.
