The Corona Cabinet is expected to convene today (Thursday) to decide on the issue of opening the early childhood education system next week.

Criticisms of government decision-making on education come from parent groups demanding the return of all children to frameworks, defenders angry at the short notice and their inability to prepare, to mayors calling for not allowing teachers to move from red cities to green cities.

According to

Givatayim Mayor Ran Konik

, the government's delay in opening the education system - given the number of infected more than 2,000 - is understandable, but at the same time, he believes that it should be opened up to the second grade.

“This is really a not-so-simple dilemma because we have not yet reached low numbers of verified,” Konik said.

"At the same time, it is possible to open up the education system at the young ages where the infection rate is zero. I also understand that this is the direction we are going."

On the fact that the government did not really leave time for preparations to open up the education system, Konik said that they were already used to this method.

"This is not ideal, but I think this time the government is taking extra care and justice. We have seen that the last time they opened too fast and without further thought, the data went up all over the country," he said.

He said, "We need to smartly open up the lower layers first and let the data go down slowly."

The mayor clarified that a third closure should be avoided following a return to education.

"It will be horrible and terrible. I understand the apprehension and caution, I understand the desire did not repeat mistakes, but it would have been better if we had a few more days of organizing but we got used to this conduct."

Konik emphasizes that "the important thing is to find a solution for the fifth and sixth grades, which will allow continuity without adherence and a complete return of the education system within a few weeks. That it will really be possible to learn and keep the green cities."

According to him, another problem lies in the teaching staff who live in red cities, for whom they must find a replacement.

"Can they go out or not? Can they go to the educational institutions or not? My position is that in a red city there is no going out and no coming in. If I have a routine manager in a red city, then there is nothing to do - she will not come to work. Let them find solutions. "

"I am of the opinion that even if one opens early childhood, it should not have teams living in red cities," Konik stressed.

"I hope the government decides that even if the lower classes are opened, the red cities will be closed. This is what the mayors will be in favor of and this is what I intend to do with me. If this is not decided, I will consider applying it in Givatayim independently," he clarified.

"Staffs living in red cities will not enter the education system until their city is down in morbidity."

"The important thing is a solution to full repetition."

The mayor of Rishon Lezion, Raz Kinstlich, called on the kindergarten teachers and assistants in his city to perform a corona examination before returning to activities under the auspices of the municipality.

"Your work is critical for the development of children, especially during this period, and no less important - also in the parents' confidence to return to the work routine. So that we can advance a step while maintaining your health and the health of those around you, .

Anat Dadon, chair of the Teachers 'Department at the Teachers' Union, told Walla! NEWS that in the current situation, where there is no significant preparation by the Ministry of Education for staff on the ground, it is impossible to open the education system and kindergartens. Israel.

The Ministry of Education does not provide us with an outline, if there is one at all. "

According to her, kindergarten teachers really want to return to work and a routine is a blessed thing, but not at any cost." The health of kindergarteners and children is very important. Subject to a purple character, so that someone will explain how to keep a distance between the children.

We are not in a position to make proposals to the Ministry of Education, I just know that an employer cannot send the kindergarten teachers to open the kindergartens without protective measures. "

Dadon raised another issue that also concerns the children of the kindergarten teachers, who may not return to the frameworks.

"If I'm a teacher and I have a child in first grade, what am I supposed to do with him? Throw him out on the street and go to work? No one knows anything, and everything is secret."

"Open the education system too early irresponsibly on September 1," Dadon accused.

"In this way, we are leading the State of Israel to a third closure. We are consulting with the legal advisers on a labor dispute and we will make the most informed decisions. Why were the announcements made from moment to moment? The process was done with such systems madness."

Revital Blumenfeld (formerly a Walla! NEWS reporter), a mother of three children under the age of five from Kfar Saba, set up a group called "Parents go out to demonstrate, return children to frames" and initiated a demonstration to be held today at Habima Square in Tel Aviv. .

"Bringing sanity back to children."

"For more than half a year our children have been imprisoned, and we understand that there is no reason," she said.

"There is no one in the government who can say that my children are a poor coefficient of infection, and still keep them away from frameworks and friends and disrupt their routine," she said.

"The Ministry of Education has simply gone bankrupt," Blumenfeld attacked.

"Passed privatization to YouTube, Zoom, sent my children to be educated in front of the screen. We do not count the parents and children, we decided that it is enough to make a round of us."
